I have the honor to inform you, that I received, by the recent mail, the Hong Kong Gazette, of the 23rd April last, containing "by Order of Sir John Bowring, his official version of Mr May's Memoranda, referred to so often in my letters, and in the Minutes of the Commission and now at length brought to light; but the very existence of which was, during the most important period in the history of that Case, attempted by Sir John Bowring himself, and also by Mr Bridges and Dr Morgan on his behalf, to be altogether ignored.
